As we continue to grow, we are seeking an energetic Mechanical Engineer to join our team. 

The Position 

In this diverse, hands-on role, you will focus on designing and modelling our state of the art VentoFoil wind propulsion systems. Your work includes the design of mechanical components, performing strength calculations, and converting designs into production drawings. You will play a key part in developing sustainable and efficient solutions for the maritime industry through innovative mechanical design and problem-solving. You will work together in a team of designers and have close contact with the production and purchasing departments. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Design and Development: Responsible for designing and improving mechanical components of the VentoFoil system using CAD software, focusing on performance, durability, and sustainability.
  • Technical Analysis: Perform strength calculations, structural assessments, and translate these into production drawings.
  • Run simulations to ensure components meet industry standards and real-world maritime conditions.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Work with other engineers, production managers, and other departments to integrate mechanical systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of design work, calculations, modifications, and test results for internal development, client presentations, and regulatory approvals.

Qualifications and Skills 

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Shipbuilding, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoDesk).
  • Experience in understanding the technical needs of the production department.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to overcome challenges throughout the design and testing phases.
  • Collaboration: Strong communicator, working well in cross-functional teams.
  • Passion for Sustainability and Innovation: Deep commitment to developing environmentally friendly, innovative solutions, particularly in renewable energy for the maritime industry.
